Feng Shui - A Universal Science
Feng Shui literally means wind and water. According to ancient Chinese theory, the landscape, mountains and water have different kinds of energy. The flow of energy is dissipated by wind and stops at the boundary of water. In the old day, if the Chinese wanted their descendants to have high status and power they buried their ancestors on the mountain’s dragon dens. If they wanted their descendant to be wealthy, they buried their ancestors on the water’s dragon dens. In later years this theory applied to houses for living.
Feng Shui is a body of knowledge that allows us to harness positive energy and to minimize as much as possible negative influences in our environment. By enhancing the good aspects, we can improve our health, harmony and prosperity in virtually any location: our houses, apartments, offices and commercial buildings.
Feng Shui teaches us how to place ourselves in a good location to receive these positive energy, how to take advantage of the landscape, the surroundings, the orientation, the placement of furniture, the color schemes, etc…
Feng Shui defines the center of the building, divides yang and yin areas in harmony with the five elements, define facing direction, main door and using flying stars to analyze the energies etc…
In the old days, Feng Shui knowledge was kept within traditional families and between teachers and students. The students took a long time to learn as teachers were reluctant to share their knowledge. Moreover, it was difficult to find an authentic Feng Shui master.
Today, Feng Shui is more accessible to the general public as teachers are more willing to share their knowledge and to give people a chance to learn and practice this science.
This knowledge allows us to select a prosperous site for building a house, to choose the best direction to achieve maximum prosperity, to select the best unit within the house or apartment for every individual in the family or in a commercial building, to apply interior design in bedroom, living room, hallway, office or commercial building, and the exterior design such as landscaping, garden in order to continuously protect and maximize long term prosperity.
The philosophical foundation of Feng Shui is as relevant today in our Western culture as it was thousands of years ago in China.
Feng Shui is not a religion, neither superstition. It is a science proven by the results brought to the practitioners and their clients who believed in it, who achieved their aspirations and living a healthier, happier, more prosperous and harmonious life.
